“When the spring is coming… A story in Shiiba”

There are the Japanese.
There are appearances of the life with marvelous charm.
From masters of the life enjoying the nature to a beam of the youth,
written up whole of the village with photos and in writing.

Looking back for two years, the life in Shiiba is the “sincerity” if expressed in one word. Everyone wishes to be sincere, but there is a reality they never obtain their wishes. Why Shiiba can keep its sincerity? It deems not irrelevant to be sparsely populated village where they cannot live nestling up. <From cover belt of the book>

”The universe in Shiromi”

Fans are waving, and people are dancing.
 The soul rises.
The feast of the divine and people unrolling at Shiromi, the mountain country of Kyushu.
The dignified atmosphere covers all over the sanctuary, and Houri* dancing entirely dedicated to the sacred. The triton resounds telling the Advent of Nishinomiya Great Divine, the tense air is more increased in the sacred place.
The fan in the right hand moves slowly like cutting the space. The applause sounds from the auditorium with a stir, and wrappings as money offering are flied to the mask of sacred all at once.
The night when I saw the first time the Shiromi Kagura, I continued shooting without feeling cold nor sleepy, thinking there is the original scene of the Japanese religious faith. It seemed for me to see the figure of dancing Houri with the true prayer, to calm the menace of wild nature, and to be granted their earnest wish for a rich take.
(* Houri: Who performs the sacred dance at the place, mainly performed by the chief priest when dedicate a dance to the god of Shinto shrine)
